Golden Milk

Turmeric is truly a miracle medicinal spice gifted to us by Mother Nature. It greatly enhances the bodies inherent healing properties.
Golden milk combines several benefits next to being very tasty. Mix the powerful ingredients of golden milk and have your first sip. You will feel its effectiveness immediately. Especially during stressful or cold periods of time this comes in handy to improve the immune system and avoid illness.

Yogis and yoginis have always been teaching this holistic nutrition remedy for its amazing healing properties. The Turmeric root was already used by the ancients to make medicine powered by nature. Turmeric is known to have more than 150 therapeutical activities. It is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic and has great cancer fighting properties.

Drink the golden milk before bed-time or anytime of the day to:

  • Fight inflammation;
  • Calm heartburn;
  • Maintain cholesterol levels;
  • Promote digestive health (control diarrhea and gas);

This is the first step to make a Turmeric paste. You can keep it refrigerated in a small airtight glass jar for 2-3 weeks.

How to make Turmeric paste:

  • 1/4 cup of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper. Ninja trick: always add black pepper to turmeric! This way you increase the body’s absorption of its healing properties by 2000% !!!
  • 1/2 cup of filtered or spring water

Throw all ingredients in a pot and place on medium heat. Stir constantly while heating and do not allow the mixture to boil. You can add natural birch tree sweetener or stevia to sweeten as desired. Those of you who don’t have blood sugar conditions like diabetes or hypoglycemia: You can increase the medicinal value of this drink through adding raw organic honey. Let the mix cool down to a little more than room temperature before you add raw honey. This is to preserve its medicinal properties and precious enzymes.

If you have a Persian supermarket in your town, I recommend you check it out. They often carry the finest quality of spices available.

How to make Golden Milk:


  • 1 cup plant milk. For example, coconut, hemp or almond milk
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • minimum 1/4 teaspoon turmeric paste
  • Sweeten to taste!

Now, there are many variations you can go for. If you’re a ginger fan you could add a few slices fresh ginger to it. I personally love to add cardamom. It adds a special extra boost in taste to it.
